Shopping in the UAE - Focus on Dubai

The United Arab Emirates has become a must visit place on the world shopping map with a mixture of traditional markets right through the shopping spectrum of vast state-of-the-art arcades and impressive glitzy malls such as the Wafi Mall pictured here

One thing Dubai is famous for is its shopping, from the hustle and bustle of bargaining in a traditional souk market to ultra-modern shopping precincts. There are over 70 marble pillared, air-conditioned shopping malls to choose from and you will find every major brand name, designer fashion houses and of course extensive gold and jewellery stores.

The shear variety and competitive pricing of goods in Dubai makes it an attractive destination but added to its Arabic flavour, desert location and opulent surrounds it is a unique experience.

Even when preparing to leave the city the shopping opportunities continue with extensive retail outlets in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi International Airports which both serve Dubai

Passengers who choose to fly from Dubai to London with Etihad Airways will actually drive to nearby Abu Dhabi Airport and catch flights to London from Abu Dhabi

Once visited never forgotten, the UAE has so much to discover - if you can drag yourself away from the shops!
